Standing for the first time,
this little one glowed in
showered applause; this
pause at a turned corner
enfolded him in the pure
timelessness that graces
every point of no return
– no trail of a held-to past,
no clouded what-if future.
A single-in-its-brilliance
moment, no angst of when
will walking come or sneer
at just crawling – no uneasy
waiting for what’s next, only
rejoicing in present newness.
The heart poised to forgive,
the motive stretching for
purification, the waiting thought
yearning for a divine shift can
become our turned corner – our
standing for the first time.
For we, in truth, forever rooted
in spiritual reality – Spirit’s
impelling, irresistible heavenly
law – can rise to stand as God’s
unfolding reflection, rejoicing in
good’s nowness that springs
new around every corner.
